Make a Difference Day
CSV’s (Community Service Volunteers) Make a Difference Day is the biggest day of hands on volunteering in the UK. This year over 96,000 people are expected to take part.
BBC London, CSV and Barclays Bank PLC are getting together to turn a semi derelict room in a Lewisham community centre into a permanent studio so local young people can learn how to make TV programmes.
We’ll also be painting the ‘green room’ where the students chill out and older users play bingo, as well as giving the toilets a much needed make over. We need volunteers to paint and help with general decoration. Free food will be provided and the day will be a real celebration of the achievement of ‘Media for All’ with an
appearance by Taz from DefJam records and other special guests.

There will be preparation days on Thursday 28th October and Friday 29th October between 11am and 4pm
where volunteers are welcome to come along to do the decorating prep work.

"Make A Difference Day will make a great difference to our project. Having our own studio means we can do media training five days a week and will make a difference to the quality of our programmes and the training we provide", says Director of Media for All, Alestir Waller.
